Dear Steve,

Although you won’t be able to read this,
I wish to say a heartfelt “thank you” for being such an inspiration to me.

Did you know the impact that you have had on this world?

I walked past a group of happy kids today,
and saw that their source of happiness was the iPad they were playing on.

I saw a determined jogger plugged into your iPod,
pushing his own body to the limits.

And I saw people on their iPhones,
texting their loves ones.

You brought joy to the clinical world of technology.
You brought smiles and laughter into the movie theatres.
You gave emotions to machines.
You taught me the true meanings of passion and self-belief.
And you made a grown man tear,
when I heard your voice on the radio today.

Although you’re now gone,
a part of you will live on forever in all of us.

For each time our iphones, macs and iPads flicker on,
your spirit flickers alive.

Thank you, Steve.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
